OnePlus 15R Launch Confirmed in India: Price, Specs, OxygenOS 16 & Everything You Need to Know! (2025)

Get ready for the latest tech buzz! The OnePlus 15R is coming to India, and it's bringing some exciting features and a few surprises.

OnePlus, fresh off the launch of the OnePlus 15, has confirmed that the 15R is on its way, and it's set to make a splash in the Indian market. But here's where it gets controversial: this new phone is rumored to be a rebranded version of the OnePlus Ace 6, which was released in China a few weeks ago. So, is it just a repackaged device, or does it have some unique twists? Let's dive in and find out!

The OnePlus 15R is expected to run on Android 16 with the latest OxygenOS 16 update, offering a smooth and feature-rich user experience. One notable change from its predecessor is the removal of the iconic alert slider, replaced by the Plus Key, a multi-functional button with some cool tricks up its sleeve. You can use it to switch volume profiles, snap photos, start recordings, and even capture memories with the Plus Mind feature.

But here's the part most people miss: the OnePlus 13R, a previous model, didn't have the Hasselblad branding for its cameras. Will the 15R follow suit and utilize OnePlus' new DetailMax Engine for enhanced photography? Only time will tell.

Now, let's talk specs. The OnePlus 15R is expected to sport a 6.83-inch 1.5K LTPS AMOLED display with an impressive 165Hz refresh rate. It's also rumored to have IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K water and dust resistance, just like the OnePlus 15. Under the hood, it's likely to pack a powerful processor and a 50MP primary camera with OIS, along with an 8MP ultra-wide lens. Selfies and video calls will be handled by a 16MP front camera. However, one potential downside is that the 15R might have a downgraded camera setup compared to its predecessor, which had an additional telephoto lens.

Powering the device is a massive 7,800mAh battery with support for 120W wired fast charging. Unfortunately, OnePlus has continued its tradition of not offering wireless charging support for the R lineup, so it's unlikely to be included in the 15R as well.

As for colors, the Ace 6 comes in Competitive Black, Flash White, and Quicksilver. Will these options carry over to the 15R? We'll have to wait and see. Interestingly, the OnePlus 15 was also available in the same color variants as its Chinese counterpart.

Now, let's talk price: the OnePlus Ace 6 starts at 2,599 yuan (approximately ₹32,000) in China, which is a 300 yuan hike from its predecessor. Given that OnePlus has already increased the price of its flagship models, it's highly likely that the 15R will also see a price bump. Expect it to start around ₹45,000, a significant jump from the ₹42,999 price tag of its predecessor.

So, what do you think? Is the OnePlus 15R a worthy upgrade, or is it just a rebranded device with a higher price tag? Share your thoughts in the comments and let's discuss!
