We are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of Edna Patricia "Pat" Hensbee, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother who left an indelible mark on the lives of those around her. Pat's journey came to an end on January 14th, 2026, at the High-Crest Sherbrooke Home for Special Care, surrounded by her loving family. Born in the charming town of Antigonish and raised in Cross Road Country Harbour, Pat was the daughter of the late William and Verda (Fenton) Wilson, who instilled in her a strong sense of family values and love for her community.
Pat's life was a testament to her unwavering devotion to her family. She was a devoted wife to Delbert, her partner of 63 years, and a loving mother to her three children, Bradley, Debbie, and Heidi. Pat's greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored. Her family was her priority, and she would go to great lengths to ensure their happiness and well-being. One of her favorite pastimes was enjoying quality time with her husband at Pringle Lake, creating cherished memories together.
Pat had a passion for literature, particularly the works of Lucy Maud Montgomery, and her collection of Anne of Green Gables books was impressive. She also enjoyed the challenge of jigsaw puzzles, lexicon puzzles, and word search books, which kept her mind sharp and engaged. Her culinary skills were exceptional, and she was renowned for her delicious cinnamon rolls, which were a favorite among her family and friends. Pat's sweet tooth was legendary, and she never turned down a square or a cookie, always ready to indulge in a sweet treat.
Pat is survived by her husband, Delbert, and her three children, Bradley, Debbie, and Heidi, who carry on her legacy of love and compassion. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Amy, Ryan, Devin, Cameron, and Lilly, and her great-grandchildren, Logan, William, and Norah, who were the light of her life. Her sister, Grace Archibald, also survives her, carrying on the family tradition of love and support.
Pat was preceded in death by her siblings, Arthur Wilson, Dorothy Jones, Joyce Malloy, and Ida Mason, who will forever be remembered for their love and kindness. The funeral service will be held on Sunday at the Goshen Gospel Church, where Pastor John Luten will preside. The service will be followed by a burial in the church cemetery, where Pat will be laid to rest alongside her loved ones.
In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice are appreciated, allowing Pat's memory to live on through the support of a cause she would have cared deeply about. Funeral arrangements are being handled with care and respect by the C.L. Curry Funeral Home in Antigonish. Online condolences can be expressed at www.clcurry.com. As we remember Pat's life, let us celebrate her love, compassion, and the indelible mark she left on the lives of those she touched. May she rest in peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
